entertained of the consequences. After supper
Thomas and I took a walk out to see if we
could see anything of it. The two nwas now
very quiet, and many mounted police as well
as many on foot were patrolling the streets.
We understood that early in the day a large

Sunday Jan. 27

Went up to the City and spent the day
at Uncles in company of the spinster
Aunts who were there spending the day.
Went to St. Pauls morning service, and
Lizzie and I went to the Special Evening
Service at St. Paul's; we heard a beautiful
Sermon by the Rev. Canon Miller of
Greenwich on the present hard times.
