times. We walked through the chambers once
of occupied by King William and Queen Mary;
still partly furnished as they were at the
time they were occupied, but now deserted,
lonely and gloomy, and suggestive of grave
reflections. We visited the great hall in
which Wolsey once held his great dinners
and banquets of his day, and which with
its walls hung with trophies and arms of
ancient date would almost remind you
of the semi-barbaric times when the England
was in a state of vassalage. After spending
three or four hours in this wonderful
building we set out on our return; but
before starting we had a comfortable
tea at a house by the river-side. We
reached London quite late in the
evening, rather tired, but altogether
pleased with our days enjoyment

Went up to London. Lizzie and I went
to Victoria Park, before dinner. In the
evening we went to St. Margaret's
Lothbury to hear Mr. Roussel.
