Wednesday Sept 26

I had a holiday today, Lizzie and I started
of again for Hampton Court but it came
on so excessively rainy that we changed
our minds and went to the British Museum
instead. We stopped here two hours and then
went to the Polytecnic Institution instead
where we spent a very entertaining afternoon.
We went to Drury Lane in the evening and
saw the play of King John, which character
was splendidly acted by Mr Phelps.

Saturday Sept. 29

Went around to Uncle's. Lizzie and I
took a walk over Blackfriars Bridge.

Sunday Sept 30

Went up to London very early and break-
fasted with Uncle. After breakfast Lizzie
and I started off on our third attempt
to reach Hampton Court. We walked to
Waterloo Station, and went by train.
The day was very dull and we were very
apprehensive of rain, but it held off
and we spent a very pleasant day in
exploring the wonderful spot, so celebrated
