Sunday July 9th

Spent the day in London; Before dinner
uncle and I went up to Westminster
by boat but as it rained all the time
we did not enjoy it much. The old lady,
who walked off so quietly the other day was
picked up in Marylebone, and was well
cared for in the Workhouse until called
for.

Monday July 10th

Went to the Greenwich Theatre; saw
the Opera of Lucia di Lammemore;
also "No Song; No Supper".

Sunday July 16

Went to-day by excursion train to see my
relations at Lewis; had a very pleasant
day and a very pleasant time. We had
a morning walk over the Downs, where
I had an opportunity to inspect a steam
plow. Being excessively hot in the sun
we stopped in doors the remainder of
the day; and I we returned by the
evening train, pretty well tired, but pretty well
satisfied with our day's recreation.
