Sunday July 2nd 1865

Got up very early to see Thomas and his
family off to Lewis. After breakfast I walked
to Greenwich and had a pleasant ride up
the river to Westminster, where I attended
[Dume?] Service at the Chapel of the
[Coldstream?] Guard's St Jame's Park, spent
the remainder of the day at Uncle's; Edwin
[Cubbe?] called in the afternoon. After
tea Uncle and I took a trip up the
river as far as Westminster, and back

Wednesday July 5

Went up this evening to see Uncle; found
them all in a great state of excitement
caused by the disappearance of Mrs
Maloney aunts sister a lady of feeble
mind; she had quietly walked off
this afternoon, and no tidings had been
heard of her up to eleven to night
although the police, and telegraph had
been put in requisition.

Saturday July 8

Jewell and I took a long walk this
evening and called on a frend of his named Matthews.
