Sunday Mar. 19

We spent the morning in digging our
little patch of garden, which is about
sixty feet long and fifteen wide, and
in preparing it for planting. The weather
is very windy and squally.

Wednesday Mar. 22

Went this evening to the Alhambra, Leicester
Square. A very good entertainment.

Sunday Mar. 26

Went up to London. Uncle and I took
a walk to Shoreditch to see the Whittalls.
Went to hear Spurgeon in the evening.

Sunday Apr. 2

A beautiful bright day, and more like
spring than any day we have yet had.
The seasons in England are so much
alike, that were it not for the rain
it would be a difficult matter to tell when
one season ends and another begins.
T. and I took a morning walk around
Blackheath which now looks beautiful
and green: and through Greenwich Park
lovely at any season.
