Friday Nov. 4th/64

Went this evening to a penny reading at the
Deptford Institution.

Saturday Nov. 5th

This has been the celebrated Guy Fawkes Day
and was celebrated in the usual manner.

Sunday Nov. 6th

Tom, Walter and I took a morning walk
in the direction of Shooters Hill, with the
object of reaching the Castle; but being
too far we were unable to reach it.
After tea we went to Mr. Bishop's.

Tuesday Nov. 8th

Last evening, I went with Mr. Jewell
to a party given by a young friend of his
on the occasion of his attaining his twenty-
first birthday. Their names were [Tracy?]
and they live in St. Johns Street very
nearly opposite the place where Papa was
born. They and their party were all strangers
to me but I enjoyed myself very much
