weather had somewhat cleared, I
went up by boat to [[Westminster]] and
attended Divine Service at the [[Abbey]].
After the service was over which was very
solemn, I walked round the Abbey [?]
look at the monuments but as the
place is immediately cleared I was
soon obliged to leave. When I returned
by boat to [[St. Paul's]] pier the wind was
very high and the river was exceedingly
rough. Took tea at Uncle's with whom
and [[Uncle William]] I spent the reamainder
of the day.

Saturday Aug 27
This is the anniversary of my taking my
present situation at [[Causton's]] and although
I was not aware of it at the time I have
also taken a holiday which I have spent
in as profitable a manner as possible.
This morning I took a boat from [[London
Bridge]] to [[Waterloo Bridge]] and walked
from there to the [[National Gallery]]
[[Trafalgar Square]] where I spent
two hours looking at the splendid
