large party of us took a walk to the
[[Standard Tea Gardens]], had supper at
[[Mr. Braine's]]. On our way down this afternoon
we stopped at the Hospital to see the
Painted Hall or Picture Gallery of the
institution. The ceiling of the room is
most beautifully painted from which I
suppose it takes its name. There are some
very handsome and valuable paintings
here most of them being of nautical charac-
ter and protraits of celebrated admirals
and officers of the [[Royal Navy]]. There are
also deposited here the relics of [[Sir John
Franklin's]] Expidition which have been found
from time to time. Also the coat and vest
which [[Nelson]] had on at the time
of his death. A great many beautiful
models of celebrated ships of the [[Royal
Navy]] are deposited here.

Thursday Aug 4th/64
Went this morning to [[Greenwich
Theatre]] to see the [Illegible?].
Also the farce of [[Stage Struck]]. The first
is a beautiful play.
