see the ruins of [[Savoy Church]] which has
been destroyed by fire.

Sunday July 10
A bright sunshiny day. T. [[Mr. Barrel]] and
I took a walk to [[East Greenwich]]
along the river side; called at [[Mr Brains]].
After tea we took a walk along the
[[Brighton Railway]].

Tuesday July 12
Today [[Mr Causton]] raised my wages
from 16 to 18 shillings per week which is
still very small but which by strict economy
I must make to do.

Sunday July 17
This morning [[Mr Barrel]], [[Thomas]] and I walked
to [[East Greenwich]] where we called upon
[[Mr Bishop]] and procured his boat and
had a most delightful ride upon the
river. We rowed down the river for nearly
two miles and passed on our way the
celebrated [Agar?] boat which is now
being built for [[Mr Winan of Balitimore]].
