and I took a walk to [[Shepherdess Walk]]
to see his daughter [[Elizabeth]]. [[Mr. Whithall]]
returned and dined with us. Uncle
W. and [[John Mullens]] were also there.
We spent the afternoon very convivially
in drinking each others health. After
tea we all took a walk and a ride
up the river.

Sunday July 3rd 1864
Got up very early and went a fishing
with [[Thomas]] in the river [[Ravensbourne]].
Caught nothing not even a bite. After
breakfast took a walk with [[Mr. Barrel]]
and [[Thomas]] to [[Blackheath]] and [[Greenwich]].

Monday July 4th
Quitted business early and went to the
new [[Greenwich Theatre]]. Saw [[The
Ticket of Leave Man]] and [[Good for
Nothing]]. Met [[Tom]] and his wife, and
[[Mr. and Mrs. Barrel]] who had also
been there although I was not aware
of it till I met them.
