out on Ascension Day every three years
in some Parishes in order that the
young might become acquainted with
the boundary of their Parish, thus handing
it down from one generation to another.

Sunday May 8th
A dull cheerless day. We took a walk
this morning along the Arches under
the South Eastern Railway as far as
Commercial Dock Station; went
to St. Paul's Deptford in the evening.

Monday May 9th
Another extremely dull day. Went up
to see Uncle T. this evening. Had
a game of whist.
