a most peculiar orange hue and makes

gas necessary all day. There is I think
something terrible in this sort of weather
and it is not strange that the blues pre-
vail to so great an extent or that

Sunday Feb 28
A very disagreable and dirty day. Went
to St. Paul's Deptford morning service,
St Mary's Greenwich evening.

Sunday Mar. 6th
A very showery day. At home all day.
Wrote a letter home. This afternoon we
had a visit from Mrs. [Prudier?] and
daughter. Mrs. P. is a cousin of mine
being a daughter of Mrs. Battersby
father's sister. I have accepted an invitation
to tea on Sunday week.
