Saturday Dec. 26th
Today Uncle, Mrs. Dunn and I went
to the Crystal Palace at Sydenham.
Met them at London Bridge station, had
a very pleasant ride by rail after con-
siderable difficulty in getting on a train
owing to the immense crowd of holiday
people, all bound for the Palace; this
being the great holiday of the year, Boxing
Day as they call it here owing I suppose
to presents given on this day. We reached
the Palace safely and spent several
very pleasant hours wandering about
the gigantic building, through its many
courts and about the deligtful gardens
which notwithstanding the inclement time
of the year look very charming. The
place is so immense and there is so much
to be seen and to admire that in the
little time as our disposal we were
enabled merely to take a hasty glance
at everything. As it was we did not
see one half of what was to be seen as
we left very early, about three o'clock.
