is a stout and not very handsome gentleman
but the sermon he preached was very
able and effective. On returning to the
station I stepped into the church of
St. George the Martyr situated in the
High St Boro. On getting home I found
my cousin Thomas is very bad and that
his illness is taking quite a serious turn.

Tuesday Oct 20th
My cousin is still very ill. Last night
after I had got into a sound sleep I
was awakened by Mrs. Thomas who required
me to go up to London and bring his
mother, my aunt, down as she was afraid
he had taken a turn for the worse. I
took the eleven o'clock train. On arriving
at my uncle's I found them all in
bed but I arroused them and delivered
