to see the trains as they flashed by with the
rapidity of lightening.

Thursday Sept. 17th
After quitting work this eveing I took a
stroll along the High St Boro before returning
home in order to see the sights which are
always to be seen in that crowded thoroughfare.
Happening to step into an Auction Store I was
deeply intent on the sale which was going on
when a light tap on my shoulder causing
me to look. I was highly delighted at meeting
with two of my old shipmates who were equally
surprised to see me. We withdrew to the street
and had a long conversation. They gave me
their address and invited me to call upon
them which I shall do one of these days.
They live just back of Causton & Sons.
I forgot to say that it was Mr + Mrs Cummings.

Sunday Sept. 20th
Last evening Thomas and I called upon his
friend Norris. This morning I went to
Zion Chapel a very small Dissenting place.
The service appears like our Presbyterian
