Sunday Aug 30th
I have been so hurried and bustled about
these last few days that I have neen
unable to keep an account of things as they
occur. After having almost given up the
hope of obtaining any employment in
England I was overjoyed to hear on
Wednesday last that I was to call on a gentleman
the next morning to see if he could furnish
me with anything to do; accordingly at ten
Thursday morning Thomas and I called upon
Mr. Caneton of the firm of Caneton & Sons
Printers, Lithographers, Engravers etc. at his
place of business 14 Pudding Lande City and
after a very long interview he finally con-
cluded to give me eployment in his
warehouse. My situation is very humble
but anything is better than none and
by steady application etc I expect to rise
