weather, AM the Ranger Schooner on the Flood dropt thwart
hawser Shpt the Small Bower Cable with a small slip Buoy
to the end of it, and cleared her; Hove short onthe B [Best] Bower,
soon after come on board Captain Edward S with our Dispatches
received on board from the Ranger eight chests of bullionon
account of the Honble [Honorable] Compy [Company]; at noon weighed & dropt
near the small Bower Buoy; the ebb coming down strong, could
not come at the Buoy in the Evening run the elevent inch haw-
ser out, made it fast to the Buoy Rope; veered away on the
B [Best] Bower, weighed the small Bower, got it in ist Berth, cut ye
Cable at the Clinch, and hove it in

Moderate Breezes Noerly [Northerly] fair weather, at 6 of AM weighed
at 8 made sail on the first of the Flood & in 1/2 and hour pass'd the
Anchoring Buoy of Sangur, at 9 past the Buoy of Sangur
middle ground; at ten the Buoy of Gasper, at eleven lost sight
of Sangur, Came down Channel SSE 1/4 less 7 fathoms
least water dwon Channel 1/4 less 5 fm [fathoms] A vessel working
up the Avestern Channel
