of Board [end inserted] A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Ohio
University was held at its office in Athens Ohio in Ewing
Hall this day and at the hour above named President
Ellis called the meeting to order , and a call of the roll was
had showing the following members of the Board to be
present to wit: Alston. Ellis. Pres. L.M.Jewett Secretary_ R. E.
Hamblin_ C. C. Davidson_ L J. Fenton JE Benson
E.J.Jones_ J M Welch_ J P.Wood_ Albert Douglas Thomas
Blackstone I. M Foster_ Henry O' Bleness [inserted] and [end inserted] J. B Foraker Jr.
Pres Ellis state the object of the meeting was in pursuance
of the notice issued by the Secretary to all of the members
of the board -

appears
before
Finance
Committee [end inserted] On motion duly seconded and adopted Gen Grosvenor
was invited to appear before the Board and state th
result of his interview with Hon Andrew Carnegie in
Scotland , and thereupon Gen. Grosvenor appeared
before the Board, and gave a detailed and very interesting
