seconded and unanimously adopted by the Board.
Mr Jewett offered
the following resolution to wit:
[inserted] Borrowing
Money
for New
Normal
College
Building [end inserted]
[crossed out] be sufficient funds [end crossed out] "Where as [inserted] it appears that [end inserted] there will not
be sufficent funds [crossed out] funds [end crossed out] to the credit of the normal department
in the treasury of the Ohio University to pay to its contractor
George M Schneider of Columbus Ohio, the sum of Twenty
five Thousand dollars, due him prior to the 15 day of
September 1903, as a payment on account of the
erection of the new normal school building and as a
credit thereon, now therefore , be it resolved that
the Auditor of the Ohio University be and he is
hereby authorized and empowered to issue orders
for such an amount as may then be necessary
to pay siad indebtedness in denominations of $5000.00
of fractional parts thereof to pay off the balance of
said sum of $25.000.00 that remains after paying out of
said normal fund then in the Treasury upon said
indebtedness such an amount as may be available
for that purpose - Reserving however, in said treasury
an amount sufficient to pay the salaries of normal
teachers for the months of Sept,Oct,Nov, and Dec of 1903
and the months of Jan,and Feby of 1904, and also necessary
expenses of said normal department [?during?] said times
as may be necessary, the account of said expenses
to be approved by the Finance Committee before
payment thereof. All of said orders to be payable
to the order of said George M Schneider,and to bear
interest at the rate of not to exceed 6-per cent,and to
become due and payable upon the 5th day of March
AD 1904-"
, and moved its adoption which motion was
duly seconded, and unanimously adopted by a legal
quorum of the Board.

Board that there was a necessity of conferring
whith the Board of Education of Athens Ohio, as to the
expenses to be borne by the University and said Board
