at Athens, Ohio, until 12 oclock noon, central standard
time, Oct-17-1902, for the performing of the labor, and
furnishing the necessary materials to erect the main or
central portion of a Normal School building , on a site
designated at the Ohio University ,according to the plans,
descriptions, bill and specifications which are on file at
the office of Frank. L. Packark Architect 12th floor new
Hayden Building, Columbus Ohio, and at the office of L.M.Jewett,
Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Ohio University, at Athens
Ohio, and open to public inspection between the hours of 8 AM
and 5. P.. on all working days until the date of letting.
Proposals must be made out on
blanks furnished upon application to the Architect or Secretary
of the Board of Trustees, and are to be addressed to L.M Jewett,
Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Ohio University, Athens
Ohio.
These propsals must be made out in strict accordance
with the statutes of Ohio governing the letting of public
buildings , and must be accompanied by a good and sufficient
certified bond or certified check in an amount equal to
50 percent of the proposal, for the faithful performance of their
contract according to the plans descriptions, bills and specifications
herein above referred to. Said bond being conditioned that the
successful bidder or bidders shall enter into a contract
within ten days after date of letting and proceed to carry
the work into execution as called for by the plans, descriptions,
bill and specifications , covered by said proposal and bond, and
said bond is to serve as a final bond for the execution of the
work. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids.

The Secretary of the Board notified it that he had received
eight proposals for the work and materials as advertised
for four weeks next preceeding this date. On motion of
MrJones duly seconded and adopted , the said seals proposals
were opened by the Secretary,and read to the Board and the
proposals were tabulated by the Architect,and examined by the
