Mr Wood moved that we proceed with the
consideration of the question of the erection of a new
College building, which motion was duly seconded
and adopted.
[inserted] Location of
Normal
College Building [end inserted] Mr Wood moved that in the event the Board
decide to erect a new building that we adopt the
plans and specifications submitted by Architect. Frank. L.
Packard at our last meeting ,and that the main
front of said building face the east at a distance
of not less than 60 feet from the West Side of the
side walk on the West Side of University Terrace,
and that the north end of said building be not further
north than 240 feet from the elm tree, known as
"Howes elm", and that any action here to fore taken by
this Board conflicting with these resolutions in hereby
rescinded, which motion was duly seconded and
unanimously adopted by the Board.
[inserted] Plans for
Library
Building [end inserted] Major Welch offered the following resolution: "Resolved
that Mr. F.L. Packard, be requested to prepare and
submit plan and specifications for a library for the Ohio
estimated to cost not to exceed $20.000.00., and that he be
requested to submit said plans at the next meeting of
the Board of Trustess", and moved it adoption, which
motion was duly seconded and unanimously adopted
by the Board.
[inserted] Compensation
of Margaret
Ullom [end inserted] Maj Welch moved that the Compensation of Miss
Margaret. Ullom as Instructor on the violin be
increased from 100$ to $250.00 and fees: she to be
considered as an employee of the Ohio University ,and
to be under the Supervision and direction of the President,
which motion was duly seconded and adopted by the
Board.
[inserted] Appropriation
for Summer
School ~ [end inserted] On motion of Mr Jones the sum of $1200.00 was appropriated
for the Summer School of next year to be expended under the
direction of the President which motion was duly seconded
and unanimously adopted.
Messrs. Jewett, Welch, and Jones, on motion duly seconded
and adopted , were appointed a Committee to make a
