My first efforts in behalf of the University were put
forth in arranging for the proper opening of the Institution
in September last , and in visiting a number of teachers
institutes, chiefly in Southern Ohio, to interest teachers
and other in the work of the University
The biennial report to the Governor of Ohio was filed
November 15th, 1901. That report now exists in printed
form and shows very clearly some of the features of
our scholastic work and gives detailed statements of our
finances.

The matter of Insurance was brought to the attention
of the Finance Committee by the expiration of policies in August
and November last, representing an insurance on buildings
and equipments amounting to $16.600.00.. New policies covering
the amount were taken out. These will expire in 1906 .
the grand total of insurance on buildings and equipments
is now $63.600.00..
Policies covering insurance amounting to
$47.000.00 will expire in August of this year.
In February
last, a well-arranged , neatly printed booklet was issued.
Its preparation was suggested by the desire to advertise
the advantages of the summer term 1902 of the University.
Five thousand copies of this publication were carefully
distributed. The annual catalogue , of which five thousand
copies were printed was ready for distribution early in May.
It is a publication in Which all important information relating
to the University and its varied forms of scholastic work can be
found.
While giving necessary times to college administration
at home, some effort and time have been given by me to what
may be called outside work. Schools, Educational meetings farmers
work was done as would tend to set before this people. in the
most favorable light, the educational to be secured at Athens
my hope is that my efforts to make known more widely
