[Saturday, January 1, 1955]
Celebrated the coming in of the
New Year, at the Farm with the
Stouts, Vincent Sheean and the
Will Lawrences, Rebecca and her
friend came later.

Myrtle prepared the supper or
breakfast of hog's head, black
eye peas, candied yams, and
fruit salad. Freibe made an
excellent green salad. Myrtle also
made corn sticks.

It was late enough when
the party broke up and about 4
when I retired.

Mr Sheean brot Freibe a
huge ash tray, and to me
a quite unique figure which
he named Gladys. I love her.
Pola and Rex brot "spirits".

Second breakfast was late and I
got a call from Maestro Trucco telling
me that he could see me if I'd come
to N.Y. So after 4:30 dinner, off to N.Y.
Mr Sheean left a bit earlier than I.

Worked til 9 and returned to the apt.
