Sir
I rec[d] your fav[our] [per] Post without date before the Rec[t] thereof
your Sloop Capt. Ross was safe arriv'd of which advis'd you [per] last Thursday's
Past the Flour & the Ship Bread was all sold about /3 of the Flour I barter'd at £5~
Old Tenor [per] C[t] for Rum at 11/. & to pay for the Cask & for Loaf Sugar at £6/.
the remainder of the Flour at £4.10/. for Cash the Ship Bread @ £6~
which was the best I could do with them a parcell of much finer Maryland
Flour was sold a few Days before at £4.10/. indeed yours in generall was so
very coures xx xxxxx that not one of our Bakers would meddle with it the
Butter & the White Bread is still on hand but hope to get them off. Not meeting
with an Offer for your Vessell nor any prospect thereof shall make up a Freight
of Molasses from Mr. Black to Mr. Purveyance at 10/. your Curr[entt] [per] 7/hd
I will use my best Endeavours to procure & send you the Lobsters &
with the other Articles you Order'd Connecticut Indian Corn is started to 20/. &
little or none to be had & Rye to 25/. will both hold up till their respective
Harvests doubt not your Country Corn will fetch 24/. @ 25/. & more likely
to be higher than lower please to present my Complements to Mr. Brian
Philpot Mr. Archibald Buchanan Mess[rs] Jones Mr. Buchanan late
Partner to Mr. Hughes & inform them of the Fall of Flour Should your
Vessell return you may depend on my best Care in the disposall of her
Cargo If Barter'd for West India goods you may obtain a pretty
good Price @/. of our Old Tenor is 1/. your Curr[ency] I Am

Mr. Samuel Wentworth [per] Mr. Foster for information about the Falls [etc]
Mr. Wentworth was so ill he could not say much about them only in
Generall that the Matter stood right at the Time it was transacted
Mr. Foster has no minutae in his Books about them but Supposoo
