Sold since as I sold yours & some at 20/. Pitch13/4 Carolina Pork dull at 9 Dollars
Capt Crane was lucky in falling in at Cape Ann at a Time when his Cargo was
wanted few or none of their Vessells having gone for those Articles this Year
as Usual on Acc[ountt] of the Stamp Act believe he got on that Acc[ountt] at least 10 [per] b[t]
more than he could have obtain'd here in Cash the Place is small & the Mar-
ket very uncertain the Gentleman he sold to are esteem'd Men of Character
& Substance on the whole think he has done better than could be expected
under his Circumstances. I am

sll arriv'd it is more than probably Tar will be a Better Price

I rec[d] your fav[our] of 5th Curr[ent] acquainting me of
your having Benjam Barney's Note of hand for £180 LMony due 14th
last Month. I have not yet rec[d] any of his Effects but it is probably
I shall as he told me when I saw [^him] last he should Ship Carolina Goods to my
address in the Course of this Season if he does, make no doubt he will
give Orders for discharging his Note to you as I look upon him to be
an honest Man having known & dealt with him for xxxx some Years

the price of Pigg Ron, Barr Iron & Anchors, I have sold great part of Mr.
Hanxhurst's Pigg Iron from £8.10/. @ £9- but some of the best kind has
been sold here lately at £8- which believe will beye[d] Market Price, Barr
Iron if good will fetch from £22.13.4 @ £24 - Cask the Common
Asking Price on Credit is £26.13.4. but will not sell xxxxxx at that
Anchors I sell at 5 [d] [per] C bash & sometimes fins a Chafs at 6 [d] to
pay
