Sir
I duly rec[eived] your fav[our] of 21st Curr[entt] inclosing a Letter to Mess[rs]
Donnells of Old York which I deliver'd this Day to one of them Col[o] Nathaniel Don~
nel who happen'd to be here I suppose [^it] refer'd to a Bill of Exchange drawn on you in
his fav[our] by Henry Donnells for £120 New York Curr[ency] which I remitted to Mr Elias
Debrosses of New York y[e] 14th Inst. & expected by this & est to have beeen advis'd of
the rec[t] thereof & whether it would be hon[ord] as I hear nothing from him Imagine
he must have been out of Town. I am Your humble Servant

Sir
I rec[eived] yours dated 22nd ins[t] shall follow your directions
in observ[ing], Mr. Geroge Bryan's Order in regard to Col[o] Ingeresol's Note
of Hand to You, in mine of 15th Ult[imo] I desir'd you would either order said
note sent you for indorsement or furnish me with your Power, as one or the
other will be neccessary to recover it which you take no notice of. I now inclose
you something more than that Sum is yet outstanding for the Flour sold
James Dougherty who has been at New Fondland for near two Years
past am told there is no danger of losing it, he is expected here in the
Fall when shall [??] what I can to obtain Payment & then I will advise
Mr. Bryan thereof, mean Time I am Your most hum[ble] Ser[vant]
P.S. Col[o] Ingersoll's Note carries Lawful
Interest viz[t] 6 & c[t] more would cancell
the Note ~~~

I rec[eived] your fav[our] of 11th & 21st Inst. the former & Cap[t]
Havens with Bill Lading 20 half Bills & ease which have sold at [?]/. & Bro[??]hel
giving in the Casks if they prove to liking on delivery from the Vessel & shall
ship the Neat proceeds in such articles as you have Order'd as can be got by
my Nephew Pashall Nelson Smith who proposes using the Trade between
this Place & New York, having behav'd himself well in his Apprenticeship
with me Stake the Liberty to recommend to your fav[rt]. what of the Iron
ware I can't get at present will send anoth Opportunity as soon as
I can get them made please to inform your Brother. Mr. Gerard De Pyster
that I rec[eived] his Letter inclosing Bill Lading for a 6 bbls Pence
& same Vessel & have sold them as above [^& will ship thme as above] believe he has made a mistake
