I rec.d yours of yesterday by your son Jonathan with 8 Anchors
by Jedediah Crehroe weighing 2328 to be sold for your acco.tt which shall hold
up at 6d P lb. till you order otherwise, by said Crehore I send you 1 Ton of
Haxhurst Pigg Iron at £9 P Ton amounting as at [foot?] to £9, which
have Chargd to your Acco.tt, having had some talk with Mr. Ebenezer Stetson
about the Maryland Piggs prevented my sending you a Ton of them (as
your Son choose) instead of Hawxhurst. I expect Mr. Stetsons answer soon
& if I dont agree with him for them, you may have the whole, about 15 Ton
at £8.10/, have paid Crehore 3 Dollars for Carting the above Anchors &
Chargd it to your Acco.tt Curr.tt I am Your hum.l Serv.t

I have this day wrote Mr. David Van Horne that
I am in Cash for Acco.tt your Pigg Iron & Anchors £12 Lmo. but not being
able to procure Bills on New York, & Sterling Bills being considerably lower with
you then at this place, prevented my remitting it, have therefore desird him to
draw on me or give orders for sending it in Specia. I am also in Cash about
£50 Lmo. for Acco.tt of the Pigg Iron, the neat proceeds of which I am by your
orders to pay Mr. John Burling, who I advise thereof P this post, & wait your &
his orders for remitting the same. I have a prospect of disposing of about 10 or
15 Tons more to a person I expect in Town soon at £9 P Ton who depo-
sits Iron for the same, which if not disposd of for Cash in 2 or 3 months I
will advance you the money. Anchors from 180 to 250 or 260 neat weight
will be in demand for the Fishermen by the begining of Feb:y, doubt not
vending a Considerable number before their departure for the first fair,
if they like the moddle of them. our Custom House is now open. I am Yo.r hum.l Serv.t

P.S. Dec.r 23d I have this day Inclosd Mr. David Vanhorne P post a Six Pounds
New Jersey Bill & a (P Post) forty shilling New York Bill on Acco.tt of your
anchor & Pigg Iron cost here £5.16.5 Lawful money which sum have charg'd
your acco.tt with yours
