I duly recd: [received] your favrs. of 7th & 17th Inst, I was surpriz'd
at your Sentiments in the former; as those in the latter Corresponds exactly
with mine as also with Mr Auchmaty's who I Consulted on the affair on
receipt of your first Letter. the Molasses brought here in the Brigga: meat
only about £335. Lanful Money the Owners demand for Hire &c is £961.34
from which Sum I don't exprct any great deduction it would give me great
satisfaction to be advis'd you could reimburse me the Ballance, being {obliged}
to advance upwards of £600 & so unexpectedly as Capt. Hanson gave me
positive assurance the Brigg should come here with her full Load to my
address will put me to great difficulty in this scaree time of Money
am glad to hear Capt Hanson has succeeded so well at the Cape hope
he will get well thro hisaffairs there should he send Cotton that is
equal in Quality to what he brought last year a large Quantity woud
sell here at 1/11 @ 2/ [Lmo. P D.?] I shall endeavour to get the affair of the
Brigg Settled by arbitration? as soon as possiable & when done will furnish
you with the accott. mean time I am

I recd. your favr. of 19th Instt. & agreeable to your request
have Shipt the smalest Anchor weighing 9-2-2 on Board Schooner Two
Brothers Samuel greenough master Bill Lading therefor you have includ
the other Anchor weighing 10-1-21. I have received & will be dispos'd of when
I can meet with a purchaser for it the Changes on the two anchors amounts
to 23/4 L money as at foot which you'l please to order me as your
propos'd I am
