Park Name: (Select Park Name)

Comments: : Corner of Madison Ave and Epler Ave, looking south-ish. Madison Ave is to the left. JWR Alternative school (angled school to the right) is still standing and an active school in my neighborhood. Ball diamonds are still present though much enhanced today.

Additional Information: Old Edgewood Elementary School to left, and James Whitcomb Riley Elementary School (Now JWR Alternative School) to right, in foreground, Perry Township, south side of Indianapolis. Old Edgewood Elementary School was demolished 1979, according to records from the Southsider Voice. MapIndy aerials confirm the timeline. Both schools are present on the 1956 MapIndy aerial, and the 1950 Indiana Historic Aerial Photo Index (IHAPI). Southsider Voice records indicate 1950 was the first year Riley Elementary was used. Photo is between 1966 and 1972, the empty field to the south was vacant in 1966 aerial and had development by 1972 photo.
