Additional Information: 1966 aerial photo shows the baseball diamonds (kickball fields?) in this configuration. 1972 aerial photo shows the baseball diamonds in the same location as they are today. School was at the approximate location of the park's current parking lot.

Comments: : Gaines Park is at the corner of Tibbs and 21st Street, where the semi-circle walkway is. The rest of this property is part of the Operation Breakthrough experimental housing project from the 1970's.

Additional Information: This property was also the site of the Marion County Poor Farm. the land directly adjacent to the intersection of Tibbs and 21st (center of the image) was the site of the poor farm's cemetery.

Comments: : Eagle Creek Park Ornithology Center. Eagle Creek is on the right and Eagle Creek Parkway is on the left.

Additional Information: The building was formerly J.K. Lilly, Jr’s private library. From 1972-2007 it was the park nature center.
