About

Prewett Diary
This diary consists of almost daily descriptions of passenger life on board the SS ORCADES. Travelling from February until March 1961, both Peter and Lorna Prewett write of their experiences as the boat journeys through different countries. They start off at Tilbury, where they boarded, and sailed through to many places such as Gibraltar, Naples and Fremantle, until finally arriving at Port Adelaide. Throughout their diary, the Prewett's describe the experiences they had on the ship; the activities they participated in, the food they ate and the people they met. They also write detailed descriptions of their experiences at each new city they visited; providing interesting stories about life during the mid-20th century.
