In a letter to Stefansson dated Sept 15, 1921 from
Crawford, and sent back on the "Silver Wave"---"...the Island
resembles in outline and colour the country round Lewiston,
Idaho. Large flat spaces near coast but seems to be mostly
hilly . . . next year, bring a phonograph and records . . .
Mr. Anderson has copies of grocery and hardware bill, so you ca
can see what we lack. Bring my Literary Digest, assay outfit
-- may be placer gold. We have Eskimo woman, Ada Blackjack
with us to sew . . . call on my people in Toronto.
