prospective purchasers and everyone else were to he informed that
the money received would he used for the benefit of the heirs of

A special thing was that Taylor and Anderson explained
to Mr. Noice that the company had no money in its treasury and was
being pressed to pay the bills incurred by Mr. Noiee on the journey.
They therefore asked him to go immediately to Mr. Pickering of the Alliance, ex-
plain to him the company’s urgent need for money and ask him to let
the company have immediately either all the money already due or a substantial
part of it.

Shortly after arrival in New York Mr. Noice went to
