Dear Mr. Maurer:

In the book I am writing about Wrangell Island
I would like to incorporate portions of Fred's own story about
the summer they spent on the island, especially the part about
the raising of the British flag on July 1st, 1914. Fred sent
me copies of these stories once and I suppose I have them some-
where among my vast collection of papers, but we have been unable
to find them. Have you any copies? If you have please send
them to me. I shall be very careful to return them within a
week or two.

If you do not have the clippings from the
New York World, have you any other written information, whether
printed or not, from Fred about the summer on the island?

I have a letter from your father asking for four
more sets of the Wrangell Island pictures. We are having them
made. Is it your intention that one of these shall be for
Delphine? Of course, we are making no charge for the pictures.
I merely want to know whether you are intending one of the sets
for her. Through an oversight we did not send her the pictures
at the same time as you, but they will be going forward as soon
as possible.
