Dear Sir;

I have been reading your wonderful story of the tragedy
of Wrangle Island written from the diary of Lorne Knight
as far as I have been able to get hold of the issues con-
taining them.

I had expected, from what you told me at your room in
the Frye Hotel ,last Sept., that you would turn this diary
over to the Stefansson Arctic Exploration and Development
Co.
at Tornonto but, in as much as you seem not to have
done so, I am wondering what would be the chances to get
it from you when you have finished with it ?

Of course, all this is sacred to me and my family and
I did not know that the rithg possession of it gave you
the ownership or, I should have entered into negotiations
with you for it at Seattle although, I presume I could not
have paid you the price for it that you have received from
the newspaper syndicate.

I shall be glad to hear from you with a suggestion look-
ing to the surrender of this and also the treatise on
Scurvy which Lorne wrote ,as you told me, and I shall very
much enjoy a hope that I may gain possession of them at
an early date.

Yours truly;

JIK

This has been sent him.
