It is hereby agreed that all monies specified in the
following provisions shall be deposited in the Miners &
Merchants Bank of Nome, Alaska, on or before the day of
loading.

In consideration of the agreements of said party of
the second part to be kept and performed, the said party of
the first part hereby agrees that upon the day of loading
said schooner "DONALDSON" for WRANGELL ISLAND trip, to pay
the sum of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS in cash, which shall be
payment in full for the first twelve days, and to pay there-
after, in weekly instalments at the rate of Eighty-three
($83.00) Dollars per day, until thirty-one (31) days have
elapsed, unless the said schooner "DONALDSON" shall have
returned before the end of said thirty-one (31) days, in
which case the said charter money shall stop upon return of
"DONALDSON" to NOME.

FURTHERMORE, in the event of the "DONALDSON" not return-
ing before the end of the said thirty-one (31) days, the
charter rate for all days thereafter until the return of
said schooner "DONALDSON" to Nome, shall be reduced to
Fifty-six ($56.00) Dollars per day.

It is also agreed that if through any cause whatsoever,
the said "DONALDSON" does not return to Nome before the end
of the present navigating season, the said party of the
first part agrees to pay at the close of present navigating
