Dear Mr. Stefansson:-

My writing to you again is prompt-
ed by a letter we recieved yesterday, the
contents of which I wish you to know, but
will have to tell you about a news paper
report first, in order to make myself
understood.

The Christian Science Monitor of Boston,
published on Aug. 28, '23 a report from
Moscow, by cable, telling about the expedition
and about Noice going to Wrangell
Island on a relief ship, but that nothing
had been heard of him since he left Alaska.
The last paragraph of this report is what
aroused our attention. Inclosed copy will
show you.

What we wish to find out was, how the
