Privy Council, approved by His Excellency
the Governor General on the 21st April, 1923.

The Committee of the Privy Council,
on the recommendation of the Minister of the
Interior, advise that, in order to assist
Mr. Vilhjalmur Stefansson in placing before the
Imperial authorities his representations con-
cerning the strategical importance of Wrangel
Island from the standpoint of an Empire Air
Service, he be given a living allowance of
$15.00 per day over and above railway and
steamship fares necessary for a return trip
to England for this purpose, same to be
chargeable to the vote for the North West
Territories explorations.
