V. Stefansson Esq., -3.

this to a later date, and I shall await a wire from you
on this point.

I told Professor Crawford when he was here
yesterday that I was going to write you fully on this
matter, and he said I could do what I pleased in that,
but that his view was unalterably fixed, that it was un-
wise for you to come to Toronto now, that it might be all
right later on, but as far as he was concerned he never
wanted to hear the name of Wrangel Island again, he didn't
care who got the Island or what became of those connected
with it. He says he holds no felling against me, but I
told him that he couldn't very well feel as he does about
one of my intimate friends without me taking the matter
very much to heart.

I think it is a fact that both the Globe and
Telegram here
are keeping pretty closely in touch with the
Crawfords, with the idea of being able to get some material
they can use to the discredit of the Star, of whom they
are very jealous.

Yours sincerely,
AJT Taylor
