Dear Mr. Stefansson,

Mr. Sale has asked me to let you know that he duly received
your letter to-day regarding the possibility of one of this
Company's ships calling at Wrangel Island this season.

He regrets, however, that this is completely out of the
question. The only vessel we have in those waters which could
pay a visit is the s.s. "BAYCHIMO". We are having great
difficulty in communicating with her, and from our latest
information she was already, a week ago, fourteen days behind her
programme. In the circumstances I am sure you will understand
that this explains the impossibility of our complying with your
request.
