Dear Mr. Stefansson,

I understand from Mr. Stirling, that you invited me to
lunch with you at 1 o'clock at the Savoy Hotel on Monday next,
and I shall have much pleasure in joining you on that occassion.

I also understand that you would like to receive a letter
from us, expressing our willingness to consider the lease of
Wrangel Island, but taking all matters into account, we think
the venture would involve much more than is at present apparent,
including largely questions of Taxation, and the Board feel
that they would rather not be committed to even a small extent
until such time as the position is clearer.
