Certified copy of a Report of the Committee of the Privy Council,
approved by the Deputy of His Excellency the Governor
General on the 21st August, 1922.

The Committee of the Privy Council have had
before them a report, dated 12th August, 1922, from the Right
Honourable the Prime Minister, for the Minister of the Interior,
referring to the annexed copy of a statement dated the 8th
August, 1922, submitted by Vilhjalmur Stefansson respecting four
men stated by Mr. Stefansson to be now in danger on Wrangel Island.

In view of the circumstances therein recited, the
Minister recommends that the sum of $3000 be advanced to Vilhjalmur
Stefansson to assist in providing for the relief of these four men
who were left on Wrangel Island, the amount to be paid from the
North West Territories Vote.

The Committee concur in the foregoing recommendation
and submit the same for approval.
