New York, U.S.A.
Dear Stefansson,
I was glad to get your letters of August
21st, and Brown is very much obliged for your sug-
gestions in regard to Bernard, and will send out a
very complete story as soon as he hears from Craw-
ford.
By this time you will have learned that
Sir Edmund Walker evidently intends that the $500.
he advanced should be a loan to the Company; per-
haps he will never ask for repayment of the loan.
In any case he now holds the Company's demand note
bearing interest at 6%.
Attached you will find a news item that
came through to the Province from Ottawa, but which
was held out of the paper here as we did not think
it helped our cause particularly, and we would very
much rather that the item had not appeared in any of
the Eastern papers.
I am looking forward to hearing what your
movements are likely to be during the next few
months, but particularly during the next few weeks
as I expect to come East in September, and would be
very sorry to miss you.
Yours sincerely,
A J Taylor
