OTTAWA, .- (Canadian Press) The premier is expected back i
in Ottawa on Saturday although he may be detained a day or so
longer. On his return cabinet meetings will be resumed and it is
expected that a number of important appointments will be made dur-
ing next week.

The first meeting of the cabinet has been called for Tuesday
and it is considered likely that several judicial appointments will
be made that day. Sir Lomer Gouin is at present at his summer
home at Murray Bay but he has been in close touch with the situation
regarding judicial vacancies, particularly in Quebec. He will return
to Ottawa the first of the week and it is expected that he will
make arrangements for the new appointments.

It is also expected that the next week will see the appointment
of the new board of management for the national railways and of the
royal commission in regard to pensions and re-establishment.
