V. Stefansson, Esq.,
c/o American Geographical Society,
Broadway at 156th Street,
New York, U.S.A.
Dear Mr. Stefansson,
We have a little mail collecting for the
members of the expedition. I have been in communica-
tion with the Post Office in Seattle about forwarding
this mail, and they advise that mails for Nome are go-
ing forward about four or five times a month by way of
Seward, Anchorage, Nenana, and thus down the Yukon to
Kaltag, and then overland to Nome, some forty-five
days being required in transit between Seattle and Nome.
After the first of May, however, or therabouts, mails
for Nome will be held for dispatch by boat sailing di-
rect from Seattle.
Please advise which is the best way to send
this mail, and how, when it reaches Nome, it will be
forwarded to its destination. I do not wish to send
this mail forward until I know definitely that it will
be looked after. If you will please give me your
experiences in this matter, I shall be obliged.
Yours very truly,
John Anderson
Secretary.
