I think the "xes" in this doc are shorthand for and?
I also think the xc is meant to be etc?
Line 91 is messy with a large parenthesis

Yes, both of those observations are correct. In some of the documents, Mitchell goes back and forth between writing "etc." as "xc" and "&c".

With the awkward parenthesis, I think the way it's transcribed is fine, though I might add a } between the two sentences.
