Sycamore was died by an infusion of Brazil wood, either by itself as with Madder, is made like light-colored Mahogany; if allumed before the brazil is applied, and finished with verdigris, it resembles [Pomgranite] wood: if, after being dyed with Brazil wood, it is washed over with spirit of vitriol. it resembles coral wood------------------
Sycamore, died with the nankeen dye that is to say, annatto and subcarbonate of [Pataps], imitates light mahogany; if dyed with [Gambooge], disolved in spirit of Turpentine. It imitates citron wood; if dyed with an infusion of madder, and the dyed wood washed over with a solution of Sugar of Lead, it becomes a brown wood with veins--

Maple wood dyed with [Porrazil] wood, imitates light colered Mahogany; with Turmeric, it imitates yellow wood; with logwood it is brown mahogany; with log-wood. and then washed with spirit of vitriol it is corral wood: with log wood and, the wood being previously allumed, it become brown with log wood, and then washed with verdigris. It becomes black--
[Beechwood], dyed with turmeric, becomes yellow; with madder, and then washed with spirit of vitriol, it became green, with veins; and being first allumed and then dyed with logwood it becomes brown-----
