Gov. Humphris Jackson Mis

Dear Sir, I learned by the papers long ago that the president had been so good as to pardon me I see or hear that it notice is being given occasionally through the publick prints that my pardon is in your office.

I did think it was not important for me to actually have it with me that it must be on record &c.

As I may not be at Jackson soon you would confer a favour by sending it by mail when convenient.

I presume there are no charges upon it. I repudiate any attorneys charges unless Mr. James Yerger should makes them I feel very grate-full to him for drawing up my petition for which he declined any compensation to him I should be glad to return my obligations

Very respectfully

your friend &c.

Robt. Montgomery
