To His Excellency, Gov. B. G. Humphries

Sir

Having learned that there is a fund in your hands for the relief of the widows and orphans of this State from the Ladies of Baltimore. I would therefore respectfully represent unto your Excellency that Wm J Boyd Co F, 33d Miss Regiment that he made a good soldier and died in the Hospital at Oxford Miss, leaving two small helpless children a girl and Boy, aged 5 and 3 years. I would therefore respectfully recommend them to your excellency as being in every way worthy of your favorable Consideration in the distribution of said fund
